SESSION ONE:
Exelon Drone Inspection: Automation and AI Journey
TIME: 9:30 - 10:15 AM

The session will focus on the groundwork for future automated drone inspections in Exelon. The work promises improvements in safety, cost-efficiency, and system resiliency. The study aligns with customer satisfaction goals by potentially leading to customer savings and increased satisfaction due to improved system reliability and resiliency.

SPEAKERS:
• Ankush Agarwal, Director of Technology & Innovation, Exelon, AEIC Member
• Vladyslav Anderson, Principal Quantitative Engineer, Exelon
SESSION TWO:
The Early Adoption of Drones for Imaging at OUC
TIME: 10:30 - 11:15 AM

Abstract coming soon.

SPEAKER:
• Paul Brooker, Manager of Emerging Technologies, Orlando Utilities Commission
• Kate Coker, Dominion Energy
SESSION THREE:
Improving Accuracy of GIS Data Using High Quality Aerial Imagery & AI/Machine Learning
TIME: 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM

SPONSOR: LOCANA, AWS, PWC

Managing the spatial accuracy of asset (GIS) data is a major challenge to utilities as the existing methods of improvement are manual, time-consuming, and expensive, making it difficult for organizations to make the necessary updates. AI/ML tools such as computer vision and deep neural networks can be used to automate the process of identifying asset locations and correcting GIS data. Duke Energy is utilizing high quality aerial imagery as the source data foundational to these techniques and the AWS (Amazon) platform to power the AI/ML models.

SPEAKERS:
• Locana
• Scott Waldman, GIS Analytics and Quality Control Manager, Duke Energy
LUNCH BREAK
TIME: 12:15 - 1:15 PM

SESSION FOUR:
Advanced Vegetation Management Utilizing Satellite & Lidar Image Analytics
TIME: 1:15 - 2:00 PM

Imagery serves a critical role in vegetation management, in this presentation we take a look at how PPL is taking a comprehensive approach to vegetation management through satellite imagery and lidar collection. We look at how building a detailed view of the network serve as a building block for valuable derivative products.

SPEAKER:
• Ben Spanswick, Director Data Science and Machine Learning, PPL
SESSION FIVE: Intelligent Image Processing (IIP)
TIME: 2:15 - 3:00 PM

SPONSOR: BLACK & VEATCH

Intelligent Image Processing (IIP) is a Human + Machine partnership leveraging imagery and artificial intelligence (AI) in the cloud. IIP’s capabilities allow SDG&E to assess millions of high-quality images of our utility assets taken from drones, mobile devices and fleet vehicles in the field. During this session, we will discuss our overall inspection program, what we’re doing with this emerging technology, how we are doing it and why we are using it, including support for wildfire mitigation, communications attachment identification, developing risk-informed inspection models, compliance with new regulatory requirements and more.

SPEAKER:
Jennifer Kaminksy, Manager - Electric Assets & Compliance, SDGE
SESSION SIX:
